THREAKS is an award winning game studio based in Hamburg, Germany founded in 2009.
We work on games that we love for PC, consoles and mobile as well as AR & VR.
Our goal is to develop great and interesting concepts with a unique twist or
core mechanic while our ambition is to always deliver to our fullest potential to create
the best possible player experience.
THREAKS is an official Unity Partner Studio.

With more than a decade of development experience with the Unity3D Engine,
we've been successfully shipping games for all relevant platforms on the market.

WHEN THREE FREAKS CAME TOGETHER TO MAKE A GAME
It started in 2009, when three students went all-in - indie style - no compromises: Four years of adventures until the release of our first game in 2013: ‘Beatbuddy: Tale of the Guardians’. Our growing team continued developing and releasing several more projects, putting all our creativity into each and every one of them. Looking for our big hit game, we explored different genres, mechanics & art styles for different platforms, ranging from Side Scroller Action Adventures, Puzzle Games, Top Down Shooters to 3rd Person Action Adventures, resulting in a wide variety of skills and experience gained within the team.
During this time, THREAKS also contributed a lot to help the indie games scene, both locally and internationally. As part of our efforts we managed a game studio hub in our home town of Hamburg for about 4 years, providing a co-working space for up to 9 studios. Alongside this, we helped shape the Indie Arena Booth at Gamescom and eventually made it the biggest shared developer booth in the world. The flourishing event business side became its own business entity, ‘Super Crowd Entertainment’.
In 2021, after a decade of our own IP development we decided to bring the business of THREAKS to the next level by fostering the economy through external development. Ever since, we have managed to contribute to great projects and IP’s such as Oddworld, Warhammer, Gang Beasts, DDLC+ and more, with a focus on Co-Dev, Porting and Full SKU.
With all three major founders coming from an artistic background, the attention to visual fidelity and excellence in graphics execution is still apparent to this day, yet mixed with technical precision and growth in knowledge from more than 13 years experience. Today we count 5 IPs to our name and work with a diverse team of 25 industry professionals from an international background. We’re loaded with passion and excitement for the next projects to come and aspire to join the AA industry.
